Polish discount retailer Biedronka is negotiating the purchase or lease of COOP Dunajská Streda stores. Both parties confirmed the talks, adding that they are not completed. Biedronka will open its first stores in Slovakia by the end of this year, in Levice, Nové Zámky, Považská Bystrica, Senica and Zvolen. Other stores will follow in Miloslavov and Dunajská Lužná near Bratislava, where COOP Dunajská Streda has its stores. The latter had €47m in sales last year and a net profit of €0.4m.
