Ammunition firm VOP Nováky among the most profitable firms

Ammunition firm VOP Nováky (Michal Strnad) nearly doubled its net profit and sales last year to €92m and €259.8m, respectively. High demand following Russia’s aggression in Ukraine made it one of the most profitable firms in Slovakia, after reporting a €4m loss and €20.5m in sales in 2021. In recent years, it expanded its portfolio to include missiles, large-caliber training ammunition, and mock-ups. Exports brought in €140m last year. In 2023–24, headcount doubled to 300, and further growth is expected this year.
