No plans to close schools, stores and restaurants
The number of positive Covid-19 tests rose to a new daily high of 338. The number of active cases stands at 3,340 and the number of deaths 41. The government expanded testing capacities to 7,500 daily and the number of positive tests is set to increase. So far, it has not announced new measures, but border restrictions are likely, mainly on travel from Austria and Czechia. Economy Minister Richard Sulík denies that stores and restaurants will be closed again. School closures are not planned either. The Foreign Affairs Ministry demands that people arriving from safe countries via the Vienna airport should be exempted from a mandatory quarantine.
