IT firm Lomtec suspect of corruption
Miroslav Sedlák, IT firm Lomtec’ business director, and Peter Chrašč, a lawyer, offered a €60,000 bribe to Martin Fecko (OĽaNO), Deputy Agriculture Minister. Fecko turned to the police, which secured enough evidence and arrested the duo before the bribe was paid. Lomtec won a €1.5m tender for an IT project at the Ministry under the previous government and the new coalition suspended it. The bribe was to unfreeze the project. Chrašč leads ZOPO, a consumer protection NGO, and is often quoted by media as a legal expert. Lomtec has responded by verbally supporting the new government’s anti-corruption drive.
