The mafia is still organizing lines in front of the Foreign Police in Bratislava where foreign workers or students must spend whole nights to get a residency or work permit. Media first pointed out the appalling situation in 2017 and the then government responded by adding some capacity and moving the Foreign Police from Petržalka to Vajnory. Even there, though, the police still let the mafia run the system instead of adding more capacity and creating an appointment system.
