Scientists in Bratislava uneligible for EU funds

Scientists are protesting the conditions of the Education Ministry’s €80m call for projects fighting the pandemic. The EU does not allow institutions from Bratislava to apply as the region is too rich on paper. Almost all major research institutes of universities and the Slovak Academy of Sciences are in Bratislava, though, as are research companies. Czechia reached an agreement with the EU that allowed a part of Prague to be eligible for such subsidies.
