SPF is increasing rents to farmers

SPF, a fund managing the land of state and unspecified owners (about a quarter of arable land in Slovakia), is increasing rents to farmers. Under the previous government, it had been increasing rents in new contracts with a usual duration of ten years. Farmers are protesting the hikes and contractual terms, and have turned to the anti-trust authority PMÚ as well as Agriculture Minister Ján Mičovský (OĽaNO). SPF used to charge just several euros per hectare annually, while commercial rents come to tens of euros.
