Government is promising a major simplification of the building permit process
The new government, much like its predecessors, is promising a major simplification of the building permit process. PM Igor Matovič (OĽaNO) wants to give more powers to building designers. The new government’s memorandum says that the current building authorities will be eliminated and their powers moved to building inspection, municipalities, building designers and environmental associations. Municipalities will set rules for new development in their zoning plans. Specific legislation should be submitted by the end of this year.
