Kia Motors will produce electric cars in Žilina

The Žilina plant of Kia Motors will start producing a new C-segment electric car in 2024, said Kyong-Jae Lee, the plant’s President. The production volume will be specified later. Earlier this year, the plant launched the production of plug-in hybrid version of Cee’d models. Globally, Kia plans to launch 11 new electric car models by 2025 and sell 500,000 such cars annually.

The plant is spending €70m on renovation of its gasoline engine facility.
