Industrial output plummeted 20% in March, the largest drop since 2009

The industrial output plummeted 19.6% in March, the largest drop since 2009, reported the statistics office ŠÚ. The automotive sector’s output was down 38.3% in March and down 13.5% in 1Q. The drop was even deeper in April and May will see a partial recovery.

The construction output was down just 3.1% in March, and was up 3.2% in the first quarter.
