The local M&A market stalled and valuations have fallen by at least 20%, a survey by KPMG showed. CEE region private equity firms have €2.5bn at their disposal and can use the capital after the market stabilizes. Already in the first quarter of this year the number of deals in Slovakia and Czechia was down 28% annually. Just one in ten current transactions will actually be closed under the existing circumstances. The market might recover by the end of this year.
