PM Igor Matovič wants three-week blackout of the entire country
PM Igor Matovič has launched a discussion of a potential three-week blackout of the entire country―complete closure of borders as well as all workplaces, plus a total quarantine. Deputy PMs Richard Sulík (SaS) and Veronika Remišová (Za ľudí) oppose the idea, saying it would liquidate the Slovak economy and the virus would later return from neighboring countries anyway. They want the state to focus on increased testing instead. Former PM Peter Pellegrini (Smer) as well as business lobby groups are also opposed.
