Security firm Bonul, of oligarch Miroslav Bödör, has been protecting the infrastructure of the BVS water utility since 2015, for €1.6m annually. The contract expired in October 2019, but BVS is yet to complete a new tender. Due to growing labor costs, BVS expected an annual price of €3.1m for the upcoming period. A consortium of companies DUG, SBS Shield and Aval Beta offered a price of just €1.6m, though. A new contract has not been signed as the public procurement authority ÚVO is still reviewing appeals.
