The government wants €60m congress center

The government approved a plan to build a €60m cultural and congress center in Bratislava. It is yet to allocate any funding, as the plan must be discussed first and the Value for Money unit must review it. The plan is the brainchild of a civic association of artists and Globsec, a congress organizer. It says Bratislava is the only capital in the EU without a congress center. They claim congress tourism will pay back the state’s funding for the center. The civic association will submit the center’s feasibility study in a year and wants the center to be completed in 2026.
