Justice Ministry will purge Business Registry
In October, the Justice Ministry plans to begin purging inactive companies, about a third of the total 300,000 firms, from the Business Registry. Some businesspeople take this as a chance to save time, money and effort, since the voluntary liquidation of a company takes years and is costly; the state will liquidate companies free of charge. In October, the Ministry will publish a list of companies it plans to write off the Registry. These will include companies with basic capital still in Slovak crowns, without closing accounts, etc. One condition for free of charge liquidation by the state will be that the company in question does not have debts or assets.
