NCZI is reporting inaccurate data on drug consumption

The state health information center NCZI is reporting inaccurate data on drug consumption, warned the local union of pharmaceutical firms AIFP. The state is then using inaccurate data when setting up its drug policy. Health insurers are not reporting real drug reimbursements to NCZI, but rather official drug prices, regardless of discounts pharmaceutical companies often provide to insurers. Drugs sold via hospital pharmacies are often reported twice into sales statistics. An analysis of the 280 most-sold drugs has revealed discrepancies totaling €80m.
