Bratislava Volkswagen plant did not have a good year in 2019
The Bratislava Volkswagen plant did not have a good year in 2019 and its future production portfolio is in doubt, admits Oliver Grünberg, its CEO. It will start assembling the Škoda Karoq model at the end of 2020, but this is just a temporary fix. It makes four hybrid models and will add another one soon. VW, though, won’t make its electric cars in Bratislava despite the plant being among the TOP3 best VW plants globally. Grünberg complains that the outgoing government has deteriorated the business environment by imposing travel vouchers, increasing pay for night and weekend work, and increasing real estate taxes.
