USA has frozen the assets of Marian Kočner
The USA has frozen the assets of Marian Kočner and his six companies in the US after he was charged with ordering the murder of journalist Ján Kuciak and forging TV Markíza bills. He was put on the Magnitsky sanction list used against those charged with violating human rights and corruption. Each bank or company having any business with Kočner and his firms will be fined 300% of the deal. EU (and Slovak) banks are likely to respect the sanctions and freeze Kočner’s assets, too. Kočner is the second person from the EU on the list.
