Fully 242,000 people will change their health insurer as of January 2020, reported regulator ÚDZS. The state-owned insurer VšZP will lose 145,000 clients, a record. Private insurers will gain 68,000 (Dôvera) and 77,000 (Union) clients. This year, 4.7% of all clients took advantage of the option to switch between health insures, up from last year’s 2.6%. VšZP says that people were responding to news about health insurers being unable to meet financial demands of hospitals and doctors.
