Power consumption falling since October 2018
Power consumption in Slovakia has been falling since October 2018. In Jan-Aug 2019, consumption was 2% lower annually. The drop comes on the back of industrial slowdown, mainly the slump in the metallurgy sector. Energy distributors and power grid operator SEPS will have lower sales this year. Lower consumption will reduce electricity imports as Slovakia is a net power importer.
