Dairy firm Milsy is expanding
Dairy firm Milsy Bánovce nad Bebravou, owned by Austrian family-owned firm Biomerx, is investing €8m into its production of steamed cheese. It lost €10m in 2010-18 and increased sales of €28.5m last year. Without the investment its future prospects would be bleak. The new project will increase its output from 200 to 500 tons of cheese a month and it plans to export most of the new production. It will double its milk processing to 6m liters a month. In 2021 it targets sales of €45m and a return to profitability. Its workforce will only increase by 30 to 300 since the new lines are highly automated.
