Slovakia pledged to legalize same-sex partnerships
Last week, the government approved 200 UN recommendations for improving human rights. Based on the document, Slovakia should legalize same-sex partnerships within five years. It remains to be seen whether the document will result in any action. Slovakia is among six EU countries that have not legalized same-sex partnerships. (SME/2)
Culture Minister Ľubica Laššáková (Smer) recently stopped grants for all LGBTI projects. SLSP, Slovakia’s largest bank, gave financial backing to the projects instead.
