SaS and PS/Spolu are the only parties with programs for the EP election

SaS and PS/Spolu are the only two parties with election programs for the weekend EP election. Parties SNS, ĽSNS and Sme rodina did not bother to prepare any program at all and other parties have some form of random points without any coherent idea for the EU.

The Sme rodina and Most-Híd parties had the most constructive communication on websites and social media during the EP campaign. Smer had the second most emotional, aggressive, and demagogic communication, right after ĽSNS, according to an analysis by Bisnode. PS/Spolu was right in the middle with its communication.

Smer has the biggest campaign ahead of the EP election, according to data from the mandatory transparent election accounts. With €654,000, Smer accounts for a quarter of all campaign spending. As usual, Smer is not disclosing the structure of spending, which therefore can’t be checked. Non-parliamentary parties PS/Spolu, KDH and Národná koalícia have strong campaigns too, spending as much as all opposition parties in parliament. The legal cap on EP campaign spending of €3m per party is high enough not to pose an obstacle.
