Robert Fico keeps undermining PM Peter Pellegrini
Smer’s leader Robert Fico backed his party colleague Ľuboš Blaha in a spat with PM Peter Pellegrini. Blaha, by far Smer’s most popular politician on Facebook, wrote that the EU is anti-social and “just a bunch of insecure losers” and Pellegrini advised him to step down as head of parliament’s EU committee. Fico says he does not mind Blaha’s “colorful language.” Smer’s deputy leader, Richard Raši, went even further and said that Pellegrini should refrain from such strong language in the future. After a year in office, Pellegrini has not managed to build a strong power base in Smer.
