Companies object to subsidies for corporate housing

Parliament approved legislation that allows the state housing fund ŠFRB to provide subsidies to companies, totaling €25m annually, to build apartments they will rent to their workers. Klub 500, a lobby group, complains that the subsidies are only intended to fund dorm-like accommodations and are subject to various conditions (for instance, the apartments may only go to low-wage workers). Companies would prefer being able to build regular apartments where well-paid workers with families could live.
