Tatrakon builds a new plant
Canned food maker Tatrakon (Katarína Kacvinská) is building a new €6m plant at the outskirts of Poprad. The current plant in the wider city center is no longer suitable capacity- and logistics-wise. It will have higher capacity and will be used to make spreads, canned meat, ready-made meals, and cereals. Upon completion in a year, it will increase the company’s workforce by 5% from the current 150. Last year, the company improved its net profit by half to €0.5m and its sales were up 5% to €10.5m.
