VÚB bank sold €500m in 5-year bonds with a coupon of 0.25%
VÚB bank sold €500m in 5-year bonds with a coupon of 0.25% 2to finance mortgages. This is the largest issue of collateralized bonds in Slovakia to date. Demand topped €2.5bn and investors were from all over Europe. The issue was managed by a consortium of Commerzbank, Deutsche Bank, Erste Bank, LBBV and Imi Bank. At the end of September 2018 (the latest available figure), VÚB issued bonds totaling €2.3bn.
Last year, SLSP issued 7-year bonds worth €250m with a coupon of 0.625%. Last year, the volume of loans at Slovak banks exceeded that of deposits for the first time.
