Penta was close to Kočner

Alena Zsuzsová, charged with ordering the murder of reporter Ján Kuciak, said in her police testimony that she acted on the orders of Jaroslav Haščák, a partner at Penta. She denies being connected to the murder. Her co-defendant, Zoltán Andruskó, testified the murder was ordered by Marián Kočner, who used Zsuzsová as a go-between. The police don’t have much trust in Zsuzsová’s testimony, as she first accused Daniel Lipšic, then Boris Kollár, and now Haščák.

Dobroslav Trnka, an ex-prosecutor general, allegedly blackmailed Penta by threatening to publish wiretaps of the Gorila dossier (Kočner had hidden the tapes in Trnka’s safe). Penta sent Kočner to handle Trnka, and the wiretap of their conversation was found in Kočner’s safe. In it, Kočner allegedly confirms Trnka’s corruption. Penta denies all of this.
