Large firms stopped using bailiffs

Several large firms such as Orange, Dôvera, O2 and Union, have stopped using the services of bailiffs after legislation passed last March banned them from picking their own bailiffs. Before that, they had been using the services of about ten large bailiffs, but now all cases are allocated to 280 bailiffs randomly. Mass claiming of debts via bailiffs had clogged courts and made life miserable for many asset-less debtors. Companies with millions of customers and a large number of dodgers are now selling their claims to collection agencies. These are in a much weaker legal position compared to bailiffs. So far, there are no signs the collection agencies are using mafia-like ways of claiming the debts.
