Austrian and French construction firms control the Slovak market and have high profit margins
Austrian and French construction firms control the Slovak market and have high profit margins here, says Jozef Miček, CEO of Cedis. The latter firm, together with Kazakh firm Integra and its Italian subsidiary Todini, submitted cheap bids in nearly all recent highway and rail tenders, as well as tenders for the renovation of tram lines in Bratislava and the water dam in Gabčíkovo. Miček, former CEO of Strabag in Slovakia, declined to disclose who would work on the projects if his consortium indeed wins the tenders. The three firms have rather limited capacities in Slovakia. He wants to cooperate with local construction firms and import workers from Romania and Italy.
