Zoroslav Kollár’s race track in Orechová Potôň got €1.7m from the state
The race track in Orechová Potôň near Dunajská Streda has received €1.7m in subsidies and sponsorship deals from state-owned firms (such as Tipos and SSE) and public institutions since 2011. Its owners are hiding behind shell companies and the Public Sector Partners’ Registry apparently includes misleading information. Zoroslav Kollár and Norbert Bödör, the likely real owners, have until recently been in the race track’s SuB.
In general, the Registry has Slovak and Czech nationals as the final beneficiaries of companies doing business with the state, and only a few companies are bypassing the Registry in a way Kollár and Bödör do. The Žilina District Court, which manages the Registry, has checked the data for 58 companies during the first year, with no result so far.
