Slovensko.Digital wants four large IT projects revised

Slovensko.Digital (S.D; group of IT experts) recommended that the government reconsider four large IT projects totaling €100m that it plans to approve shortly. S.D says the projects copy past mistakes of megalomaniac projects supported by weak arguments. The first project, Digital Work Environment, at the Interior Ministry, seems to bring very little in terms of benefits. The Central Components of Public Administration Proceedings and Managing Processes and Data OÚ, PZ and HaZZ projects lack links to other public authorities. Several components of the project called National Cyber Security Incident Management seem duplicated and unnecessarily costly. ITAS, the association of IT firms, has no major objections to the projects.

S.D also condemned the €54m tender of tax authority FS for the upgrade of its data centers. The tender was prepared to cement the position of the current provider. S.D says FS should try to gain more control over its IT infrastructure, to be able to switch suppliers in the future. FS rejected the criticism. It says its tender is open and transparent.
