“The audit system at the agriculture payment agency PPA is absolutely lacking and the faults are systemic,“ said Jaromír Čižnár, Prosecutor General. The PPA control system lets individuals to make arbitrary decisions, he added. Čižnár checked 36 dossiers in which police looked into the complaints of farmers, and found police mistakes in ten of them. In nine cases, he ordered criminal charges filed. Farmers mostly complained about land speculation and farming subsidy abuse. PPA is yet to impose any personal consequences.
