Minebea Mitsumi opened plant in Košice

Minebea Mitsumi of Japan opened its largest plant in Europe in the Košice industrial park. It will have invested €60m in the plant by 2022, to produce mechatronic drives and electric motors for industry. It launched production with 1,100 workers, of whom 100 are in product development, and might add a further 2,000 jobs within three years. The government provided €19.3m in incentives to the plant, which plans to cooperate with local high schools and Kosice’s Technická univerzita.
