Geely is considering building a new €400m car plant in Košice
Chinese maker of electric cars ZhiDou announced it is considering building a new €400m plant in Košice. It will make the final decision by the year’s end. It also shortlisted Romania, Poland, Hungary, and Slovenia. The decision whether to build a plant will depend on the level of state assistance, but also on its sales. Last year, it sold 4,000 vehicles in Europe, and plans to double that number this year. It is part of the Chinese car group Geely, which also owns Volvo and has stakes in Lotus and Daimler car makers.
