Situation with unplanned power flows improved
After the recent installation of special transformers at the German-Czech and German-Polish borders, the situation with unplanned power flows in Slovakia has improved, reckons SEPS, the state-run power grid operator. Due to the high production of intermittent renewable power sources in Germany and insufficient transmission capacity within Germany, Slovakia has been facing the real threat of blackouts due to its power grid being overburdened in recent years. The transformers now return the power back to Germany.
