The last article Ján Kuciak, the journalist murdered last week, worked on dealt with the activities of Italian businessmen linked to the Ndrangheta Italian mafia family in Slovakia. These are Antonino Vadalá, Diego Rodà and Carmine Cinnante, with business interests in agriculture, energy, and real estate. They draw tens of millions of euros annually for their farms and energy projects, and face suspicions of taking subsidies for land they do not own and VAT fraud. They did business with Trošková and Jasaň, two people with daily access to PM Robert Fico, and also cultivated relations with other Smer politicians. Smer MP Robert Madej has provided them with legal services, and they called on their friends to vote for Smer on Facebook.
