Continental expands in Slovakia
The Zvolen plant of German Continental Automotive Systems plans to invest €14m to expand production capacity from 12m to 15m brake components annually. The investment will increase the workforce by 200 to 1,500. Construction of a new assembly hall, office building and warehouse is planned to start this October and last nine months.
The plant is one of a few in Slovakia to have its own research and product development center, with 200 engineers. Back in 2016, the plant posted a €15.3m net profit on €255m sales.
