Danish farmers expand in Slovakia
Slovakian Farm Invest, owned by Danish farmers, is responding to growing demand by expanding its farms run by the Pigagro company. It supplies 130,000 pigs annually, mostly to the local market, and is investing €1.5m to make space for an additional 7,000 pigs. The workforce will stay at 100. Back in 2016, Pigagro quadrupled its net profit to €2.2m, and its sales rose 10% to €14.6m.
