Hospitals run by Penta will not take part in the government-funded debt repayment
Regional hospitals run by the Penta group will not take part in the government-funded debt repayment scheme. If they accepted government money, they would have to agree to supervision by a newly created body led by the Health Ministry’s appointee, which is unacceptable to Penta. What’s more, Penta’s hospitals would only be eligible for repayment of old debts originated before Penta’s entry, which would be a negligible sum.
The government allocated €585m for the debt repayment that will start in the first quarter of this year. The program is open both for state-owned and non-state hospitals.
