ŽOS Trnava withdrew from a €32.4m contract amid rising prices

ŽOS Trnava (Vladimír Poór) withdrew from a €32.4m contract for renovation of 30 wagons for the state carrier ŽS Slovensko. The contract was to be financed by EU funds. A tender was called at the end of 2020 and ŽOS Trnava now says it cannot guarantee the bid price due to the recent spike in prices for materials, services and labor. It demanded an increase in the price and an extension of the deadline, which ŽS Slovensko declined. The other bidder in the tender also refused to confirm its bid.
