Žilina car plant Kia increased output 1% last year

Žilina car plant Kia increased output 1% last year to 311,000 vehicles, half of which were the Sportage model. In the record year of 2019, production was 344,000 cars. Of last year's output, 30% were hybrids or plug-in hybrids. Almost all of the output is exported, mainly to the UK, Germany and Spain. Engine production was up 3% to 460,000, a new record. (sme.sk) The plant invested €57m last year. It will increase wages for production workers by €130 this year, €110 in 2024 and €120 in 2025. Administrative employees will get a 7% raise each year.
