Plzeňský Prazdroj is done with PET bottles
Brewery Plzeňský Prazdroj Slovensko, part of Asahi of Japan, will stop bottling beer in PET bottles at the end of this year, a year earlier than originally planned. It backs the deposit-return scheme for cans and PET bottles that will be launched in Slovakia in January 2022. Last year, returnable glass bottles accounted for over a quarter of drink sales in volume terms. It strives to increase the share of recycled material in cans, currently it stands at 40-50%. Electricity generation from renewables overtook that from fossil fuels
In 2020, electricity generation from renewables overtook that from fossil fuels for the first time, Eurostat reported. Their share of total electricity generation rose to 38%, compared to 37% for fossil fuels. The latter fell to an all-time low and was 35% lower compared to its peak in 2007. Plzeňský Prazdroj Slovensko, súčasť japonskej skupiny Asahi, ukončí plnenie piva do PET fliaš na konci t.r., o rok skôr ako pôvodne plánoval. Plne podporuje zálohový systém pre plechovky a PET fľaše, ktorý sa na Slovensku spustí v januári 2022. Vlani predal v sklených vratných fľašiach viac ako štvrtinu objemu všetkých nápojov. Tiež navyšuje podiel recyklátu v plechovkách, aktuálne je na 40-50%. (pravda.sk)

Vlani sa prvýkrát v EÚ vyrobilo viac elektriny z obnoviteľných zdrojov ako z fosílnych palív, informoval Eurostat. Podiel obnoviteľných zdrojov na výrobe elektriny stúpol na 38%. Výroba elektriny z fosílnych palív (37%) klesla na najnižšiu úroveň v histórii a bola o 35% nižšia v porovnaní s vrcholom v roku 2007. Výroba v jadrových elektrárňach (25%) bola najnižšia od roku 1990. (webnoviny.sk)

Štefan Klein flew the prototype flying car of his company AirCar from Nitra to Bratislava on Monday. He set up the company after leaving AeroMobil (Patrick Hessel), which plans to launch production of its flying car in 2023 but still needs €15m in fresh capital. Anton Zajac, shareholder of IT firm Eset, has invested €1.5m in Klein’s project, and the company seeks further investors to provide another €5-10m for the flying car’s development. (sme.sk)
Stellantis is investing €180m in Trnava
French Stellantis decided to invest €180m in its plant in Trnava and move production of three new models, some of them electric, there to replace the current model Citroën C3. The C3 model accounted for 53% of the plant’s output last year, with Peugeot 208 being the other model. The government promised financial assistance for the investment as well as other ’green’ projects in the plant. Some of that assistance will be funded by the EU. The plant competed for the new models
Štefan Klein priletel z Nitry do Bratislavy na svojom lietajúcom aute
Štefan Klein včera absolvoval let z Nitry do Bratislavy s prototypom lietajúceho auta svojej firmy AirCar. Tú založil po tom, ako odišiel z firmy AeroMobil (Patrick Hessel; tá chce svoje lietajúce auto začať vyrábať v roku 2023, ale potrebuje ešte čerstvý kapitál v objeme 15 mil. €). Do Kleinovho projektu vložil 1,5 mil. € akcionár IT firmy Eset Anton Zajac. Na ďalší vývoj auta hľadajú investorov, ktorí by poskytli 5-10 mil. €. (sme.sk)
Stellantis investuje 180 mil. € v Trnave
Francúzsky Stellantis sa rozhodol investovať v závode v Trnave 180 mil. € do výroby troch nových modelov, ktoré nahradia výrobu súčasného modelu Citroën C3. Niektoré modely budú elektrické. C3 mal vlani 53% podiel na výrobe závodu, zvyšok bol model Peugeot 208. Vláda závodu sľúbila podporu na tento projekt, aj na iné ekologické investície. Časť podpory budú financovať EÚ fondy. Závod o modely bojoval s 24 európskymi fabrikami koncernu, napr. v Srbsku či Poľsku. Zamestnáva 4.0
Slovakia lacks mid-sized companies
Slovakia lacks mid-sized companies with around 250 employees, says an OECD report on Slovak SMEs. Despite high rate of new company creation, their productivity is very low and just a quarter of start-ups survives more than five years. SMEs account for 72% of jobs but just 58% of value added. The OECD report identified high payroll levies, frequent changes in legislation and over-regulation as the key barriers to doing business in Slovakia. (dennikN.sk)
CTP is building halls for the German plastics car parts maker Ehlebracht in Košice
Dutch developer CTP is building halls for the German plastics car parts maker Ehlebracht in its industrial park in Košice. The German company will relocate production from Michalovce and will launch production in new premises by the end of this year. The €17m investment will create 340 jobs. CTP plans to invest €200m by the end of 2023 to double its industrial space portfolio in 12 Slovak locations to 1m sqm. (trend.sk)
